Pelee Island Winery spans over 550 acres of vineyard situated on Ontario’s southern most island. This all natural winery produces wine that is of top quality and taste. World renown for its wine experts and enthusiasts, Pelee Island Winery’s climate conditions make it a unique and ideal place to grow grapes to their maturity!
The Vineyards
The quality of the wine starts in the vineyard! The unique microclimate of the vineyards at Pelee Island Winery provides the perfect airflow with limited humidity. The important PH, acidity, and sugar levels determine the quality of the grapes produced from the vineyard along with the combination of the perfect soil and weather. It’s obvious that the folks at the Pelee Island Vineyards take their jobs very seriously!
The Wine
Lead by winemakers Walter Schemoranz and Martin Janz, the Pelee Island Winery prides itself in high quality wines. With ten to twelve varieties of wine produced every year, the team at Pelee Island Winery can definitely pat themselves on the back for the taste and memorability of these award winning white and red wines.
The Tours
Want to see the vineyard and taste the wine for yourself? Tours are offered seven days a week, year round. Times are at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm and prices are $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. Each tour includes a walk through the leading estate winery in Canada, a brief wine-making video, and of course, wine tastings! If you’re feeling a little fancy (and you have 9 friends who can join you) also try the Cheese And Whine or Chocolate And Wine Tour!
