If you like bird watching, bicycling, fishing, and winery touring, then Pelee Island is for you. Pelee Island sits almost smack in the middle of Lake Erie. You can only get there by ferry – from Leamington and Kingsville, Ontario or Sandusky, Ohio.
Pelee Island is home to Pelee Island Winery’s vineyards and pavilion where several tours are available between May and October. Tours include a pavilion tour and wine seminar. Tour the grounds of the Pavilion itself; learning about some of the history of the Pelee Island Winery, as well as the reasons why it’s such a great place for grapes to grow.
On the mainland, Point Pelee National Park is world renowned for bird and butterfly migration. The park is open year-round and offers scenic vistas, walking and biking trails, and a staffed visitor centre with theatre.
